The activity

Discover and share how accessible your local community is for disabled people by writing reviews on the Euan’s Guide website. This means looking out for things such as ramps, automatic doors, accessible toilets, and collecting these together as access information! Find out a bit more about Euan’s Guide >>

Six reasons to take part!

Euan and his sister Kiki started their Euan’s Guide adventure two years ago. Now, with the help of reviewers all over the world, disabled people can get a clearer picture of what access is like at thousands of places locally and further afield. Think of all the accessible places you could suggest!

1. Shout about great disabled access in your local area
2. Disabled people will benefit from easy to find access information
3. You will gain digital skills
4. Your reviews will be published online
5. You’ll recognise what kind of access information is most important to disabled people
6. Your feedback about access will be returned to the places you review, meaning you could help make a change

What you’ll need

• Access to a computer, tablet or mobile device with an internet connection
• Euan’s Guide, ‘How to Review Guide’
• An email address
• Photos and notes for your review

What to do

• Choose where you would like to review on Euan’s Guide and collect your photos and notes from your visit.
• Create a Euan’s Guide login and profile for your Scout group.
• Using the ‘How to Review Guide’ (visit: euansguide.com/how-to-review) submit a review including details about disabled access. Your review will be published on Euan’s Guide after moderation.
• Once your review is published, you can follow up by sharing it on social media (@EuansGuide).

If you enjoy writing disabled access reviews, why not try the Euan’s Guide Scouts Challenge? Write six reviews, with at least one in three of the following categories:

• Scout group meeting place
• Food and drink: café, restaurant
• Leisure and fun: sports centre, cinema
• Everyday essentials: shop, post office, station
• Outdoor activities: campsite, activity centre
