Overview

After struggling to find somewhere suitable to accommodate our disabled son over the years , we finally found this little gem in Weymouth. An open plan living quarters with a walk in shower room made our lives much easier. An immaculate conversion which had two levels to sleep four, was made even more impressive when we saw the view from the patio doors which opened out onto the fleet . I would recommend this accommodation without hesitation to wheelchair users, elderly and able people too. Keep up the good work tidmoor.

Transport & Parking

We were met on arrival by Sarah. The cottage was behind secure electric gates in which there was a key fob to open which made it much easier when reversing out. There is local transport (bus) virtually right outside if you wish to travel into Weymouth.

Access

Extra wide entry doors into the cottage and patio doors onto the secluded garden area with a low level step. The living quarters is open plan/kitchen /dining area. There is a walk in shower with a powerful Mira shower with easy controls too.

Toilets

A accessible loo with an additional raised seat if you needed it. With drop down supports. There was also a shower chair seat to aide with showering and anti slip mats provided.

Staff

Sarah made us very welcome and gave us her mobile number and house number if we needed advice on anything. She told us about the best local places to eat ( the Turks head in chickerell was particularly nice food) and places to visit such as west bay and Portland. A very helpful person.

Anything else you wish to tell us?

I would have no hesitation in recommending this cottage (the barn) to wheelchair users , elderly and able people too. A most enjoyable stay and are looking to return in 2016.
