Disabled Access Day at The Playhouse Theatre
On Friday 11th March we will be getting the Guide Dogs association in for a 1-2 hour training workshop with 10-14 of our Front of House staff in greeting visually impaired individuals, the mechanics of this and access provision i.e what to do with a guide dog during a performance. This will involve simulated spectacles and mindfolds as well as some dog handling.
On Saturday 12th we will then be getting a selection of qualified dogs, student dogs, puppies and their owners in to do bucket collections during the incoming and outcoming of both our matinee and evening performances. Members of the public will then be able to see the dogs, donate and ask any questions about the association.
