Relaxed Tour of Rehana Zaman, Speaking Nearby

Relaxed Tour of Rehana Zaman, Speaking Nearby article image

Join CCA's curator, Ainslie Roddick, for a relaxed Autism-friendly tour of Rehana Zaman's exhibition Speaking Nearby.

This will be a small group tour of the exhibition during quieter periods in our building. It will last 45 minutes; questions are welcome throughout the tour. Two of the gallery spaces in this exhibition are low-lit, but not completely dark. The film works are shown between five TV monitors and three large projected installations with sound playing via headphones. The sound in Lourdes in CCA2 plays on speakers, which can be adjusted on request. If we can do anything to make it easier for you to attend or you have any questions in advance please let us know.

CCA is delighted to present Zaman’s first solo exhibition in Scotland. Working largely with moving image, Zaman’s work speaks to the ways in which social expectations and identities are produced and performed. Often humorous in her use of tropes from cinema and television, from forms of documentary to the soap opera, her works are generated through careful collaboration and discussion with groups and individuals.

Please contact gen@cca-glasgow.com or 0141 352 4900 if you would like any further information.
