Overview
It's possible for a wheelchair user to have an agreeable time at this café, even though it's cramped and has no accessible toilet.
Transport & Parking
This café is in the heart of Covent Garden and although there are many bus services in the surrounding area, none of them will drop you near the café. There are no step-free stations nearby.
Access
The entrance is step-free. You will have to cajole other customers into squeezing their chairs closer to their tables as you pass them to get to your own table, as the whole café is very cramped. For this reason it was also very hard to park at my table, because there wasn't much room for manoeuvre. I managed it after a 27-point turn, which left me so tired I had to have an extra cake.
Toilets
There is no accessible toilet. All the toilets are downstairs. "Welcome! Eat! Drink! Be merry! And then hold your bladder!"
Staff
The staff were friendly and attentive, and the person who served us was thoughtful about finding us a table I could use.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
Overall I would not recommend this place to wheelchair users. It's not a completely comfortable experience because of the cramped layout, and there's no accessible toilet. The cakes, however, are excellent, especially the lavish Black Forest Gateau.
