Overview
Pleasant enough room, good food in restaurant
Transport & Parking
We drove (we were breaking a long journey here) and it was easy to find, not far from m1. There are blue badge spaces near the entrance but they aren't very clearly marked (not in the main car parking area, and the sign isn't easy to spot when you drive in the main entrance). Also they aren't adjacent to the main door (being outside the restaurant). We discovered later there is more blue badge parking near the accessible room we stayed in so we moved our car there.
Access
Signage for blue badge parking wasn't obvious to us (bear left, and drive up to Reception). I couldn't have managed without a carer as the accessible room was a long way from reception and restaurant through FIVE sets of very heavy doors.
Toilets
The accessible bathroom in our room was a wet room and was good. Only downside was a small slope up from the bedroom - it was only about four inches from front to back but sloped steeply. When walking it was like negotiating a step of about an inch. I didn't manage to find an accessible loo in the bar/restaurant /reception area. Not a problem for me as I was staying there but would have been if we were visiting for a meal or drink. If there was one there, it was well hidden!
Staff
The staff member who saw us parking and helped us in through the restaurant, carrying a bag to our room, deserves special mention. Also the staff member who seated us for breakfast - he made sure we had a table that suited my needs and checked whether I wanted to transfer or not.
