Overview
This is a family run wheelchair accessible farm shop and cafe in Shetland. You won't find a warmer welcome on the Island!
Transport & Parking
I drove to the farm shop and parked in one of the two accessible bays. The bays were obvious on arrival and had lowered kerbs at those spaces.
Access
The access in to the farm shop was entirely step free and easy to enter. The doors are opened manually, but these are not too difficult and I managed to open them in my manual wheelchair. Once inside the store, there is level access throughout. The staff member I spoke to explained that they had built the whole building with a view to it being as accessible as possible, so even the door thresholds were removed from plans to make things as straight forward as possible.
Toilets
The accessible toilet was great and I managed to leave my first Euan's Guide red cord card here. It had everything I needed to use it safely.
Staff
The welcome from the staff as second to none. As it's a family run farm shop, everyone coming in and leaving the shop while I was there were treated like family too. There was a lovely atmosphere in the store.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
Lots of great things to buy in the store. There is also a beauty therapist on site that can give treatments and massage.
