Overview

Mackinnon Mills is a former factor so it is not like a modern shopping Centre. Over all the access is good with all of the main routes through the whole area clear of obstacles. However like most shops if you might find that there is little space between displays. The Outside doors open out wards and there is 2 sets off double doors. There are 2 wheelchairs available to use in the venue however one of these was small and might not suit everyone. There is a café and restaurant area you can move chairs to get a wheelchair in to the table. The café area is more open and is next to a play area for young children. The venue might be busy at times during the Summer as a number of the coach tour firms do stop here

Transport & Parking

The disabled parking area is to the left as you go in the main gates there are a number of spaces. However they could do with a repaint to make them more clear.

Access

Over all the access is good and the main routes through the place were clear of obstacles. There are a range of shops with in the venue and as such some places are more accessible as would be the case in most Department stores.

Toilets

The disabled toilet is located next to the main toilets in the venue you go through a door that opens outward to find 3 doors ladies gents and the disabled access toilet which is to the far right as you go through the first door. Again the door opens out the way however some people might find this a problem due to the lack of space. The accessible toilet was clean and there is an alert cord if you require assistance.

Staff

All of the staff were very friendly and helpful in all the areas of the venue and were doing there very best to help people in anyway the could.

This venue has a number of different shops under the one roof they include things Ponden Home, Kilt Hire, Outdoor shop, Aquatics shop, Footwear, laddies and gents fashion, Yankee Candles, Hornby and Airfix, luggage Scottish souvenir items, Together they are under the Edinburgh Woollen Mill Ltd who own the site.
