Overview

Newmillerdam is an outdoor facility (unstaffed) operated and maintained by Wakefield council. There are several walks to choose from- lakeside and woodland routes. The lakeside path is mostly level and well maintained but after wet weather can become muddy in places. Local area has nice cafes and pubs.

Transport & Parking

The car park is large and the disabled spaces are located closest to the lakeside path. There is a charge for parking set to a max of £1.70 for 4+ hours.

Access

Access to the lakeside walk is excellent. The footpath is well maintained and has seating placed along the route. The woodland walks would not be suitable (due to uneven/wet terrain) for those who require the use of a wheelchair or mobility aid.

Toilets

Toilets (chargeable) are located at the end of the lakeside walk near to one of the pubs. Most walkers use the facilities in one of the local pubs or cafes!
