Overview

This is the perfect place to experience all a beach has of offer for anyone with a disability. Access onto the beach is via a gentle ramp down onto a board walk area which has a very well equipped disabled toilet and changing room. The outdoor showers have a special wheelchair height one too. A board walk path takes you closer to the sea and to a sun lounger area. This is disabled only. My friend and I were a little later getting there so were in the third row but that suited us. It's a spacious area with lots of umbrella's, the guy will stack a couple for you if you need extra height. There is a charge for this area but it was cheap €10 euros each a day. Best thing is they have a beach wheelchair and a roped off calm area of the sea to swim in. The life guards are on hand to help you in and out of the sea with the chair and have lots of flotation equipment. No charge for this service. Having never been able to swim in the sea this was one of the highlights of my holiday and a big tick on my bucket list. My friend came in with me which was great as its not something we normally could do. You get 15/20mins or if you get tired like I did you can just wave and they'll come get you. They take you to the showers and hose you down before popping you back on your sun lounger! Great little street vender a few minutes walk away too with ice creams and drinks. I couldn't reach up to the serving hatch but they were great and came to me without me asking or any fuss.

We walked (scooted) the 20minutes from our hotel. Not sure about parking.

The path that runs around the beaches is tarred and easy to negotiate. There a smooth tarred ramp down to that area of beach boardwalk. Not all access points to the beach are like this, most are stepped.

Toilets

Not a changing places loo, but pretty good and loads of space.

The lifeguards were awesome! Little bit of a language barrier - my fault not theirs. They can do as little or as much as you need. I had a second go in the sea a different day and my friend wanted to stay on shore and take picture so a lifeguard stayed with me in the sea the whole time.

Anything else you wish to tell us?

The beach chair is on a first come basis. You need to go up to the lifeguards and book your slot. They'll then come pick you up from your lounger when it's your turn.
