New Premier Inn: super rooms for the disabled
Visit date:
This review is especially helpful for those who have or use the following: Wheelchair
Overview
It's not actually a new hotel but it has a new wing. Included in this are special rooms for the disabled (two, I think). The room we used was probably the best I have ever come across for my wheelchair-based wife. The bedroom itself was larger than the other rooms, and the wet room large and fully equipped. The only complaint was that the room was at the very far end of the downstairs corridor, necessitating navigating four or five doors. Otherwise, excellent. Dining pub adjacent.
Transport & Parking
Large car park adjacent to hotel with disabled spaces by the front door.
Access
Adapted disabled rooms at the far end of a long corridor with a number of fire doors. Receptionist accepted by complaint, but said it was a requirement of the fire authorities, because the disabled rooms would be next to the emergency exit.
Toilets
None in public areas. This is a budget hotel, so the only public area is the small lobby. There is a pub adjacent, but I didn't need to investigate the disabled loo.
Staff
Excellent. Friendly and efficient.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
I believe (though wouldn't swear to it) that all new Premier Inns and extensions to existing ones will have this type of disabled room.
