Beautiful Green Garden for #AccessDay 2017
Visit date:
Overview
As a former Landscape Architect I love the Botanics and even more so that the do their best ensure accessibility is high on their agenda!
Transport & Parking
Public transport is good, you can get a 8, 27, 23 directly from the centre of town. Parking can be a bit hairy especially on weekends.
Access
Plenty of flat areas and paths that are wheelchair friendly.
Toilets
I did not look at the accessible toilets
Staff
The staff and volunteers are always very helpful and cheerful, they all knew what Disabled Access Day was and give the information that was needed to go with it.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
On the day we took advantage of the free entry into the absolutely magnificent Glasshouses. My friend is a powerchair user and we were really happy when every electric push power door worked, although some did close a bit to fast. It was really nice that we were all allowed to go around the glasshouses together at our own pace.
