Great place to chill in the sun

Overview

A really nice spot in the centre of York for a stroll or relaxing time in the sun. The gardens are fairly large and over look the river - the museum is also in the grounds. It's free to wonder around the gardens and you can pay to go into the museum.

Transport & Parking

3.5

Good public transport links, but very limited parking on the streets of York. The museum might have a separate car park but I'm unsure as I walked from the train station (around 10 minutes).

Access

The paths are all wide and although some have a steeper gradient they aren't too steep. There were a couple of pot holes in some areas that you'd need to be careful of but on the whole a very well kept garden and path.

Toilets

0

There wasn't a toilet in the park that I saw but there might be one in the museum - although I didn't go in the museum there was ramp access inside.

A really lovely spot for a picnic! They also do garden tours every day.
