Venue Description

The Museum of Comedy is a dedicated comedy venue based in London's historic Bloomsbury, in the crypt of a Grade-I Listed church. From comedy workshops to big tv names, the Museum has a little bit of something for everyone who's looking to laugh!

Accessibility

The Museum is all on one level via 16 steps or an accessible lift from street level down to The Undercroft. Seating is unallocated, but we are always happy to reserve specific seats for anyone with additional needs, and to discuss what can be done to make our venue and shows accessible for all - please do not hesitate to contact us with any queries. Carer comps are available upon request from the box office but are subject to availability. Seats in our bar and venue areas are wooden with cushioned seats, high backs and no armrests and are 15" wide and 16" deep. If you need more space, please contact us ahead of the show you'd like to attend. We have one accessible toilet with baby change, and breastfeeding parents are welcome in our venue. Please be aware though that individual shows may set age restrictions. Our main block of five toilets is unisex - and we also have two separate cubicles at the far end of the bar area. The Museum of Comedy is an LGBTQ+ Safe Space and a signatory of the Mayor of London's Women's Night Safety Charter. Assistance dogs are extremely welcome to the venue, and unemployed dogs are welcome in the bar area but entry to shows must be considered on a case-by-case basis. Please get in touch!

Accessible Performances

As a receiving house, it is up to individual show runners to choose to run signed or relaxed performances. But we will endeavour to find out as much information as possible about individual shows upon request, as well as liaising with producers and performers.

Toilets

We have one accessible toilet with full step free access, grab rails and lower sink and hand-drier. Sadly we do not have alarm pulls installed.

Staff

Unfortunately no members of our small staff can use BSL, but all managers are First Aid certified and the Access Lead is both disabled and a carer herself.
