Volunteers' Week 2025: Celebrating our Community

To celebrate Volunteers’ Week 2025 at Euan’s Guide we want to recognise and celebrate the impact that volunteers have on our work to improve disabled access on a daily basis.

Our Volunteer Disabled Access Reviewers

Volunteer Reviewers help us to provide up-to-date and reliable access information to our community of disabled people and their families and friends. Every month tens of thousands of disabled people visit our website in search of information that helps them plan and organise their next visit or trip with confidence. Reading the review of somebody in a similar situation to themselves removes the fear of the unknown. We’re proud to have over 15,000 reviews published on our website and we hope you’ll help us continue to increase our disabled access information to help make the world a more accessible place

The Toilet Warriors helping to make accessible toilets safer

The Euan’s Guide Toilet Warriors are our amazing army of volunteers, who help us to distribute our Red Cord Card - together, we’ve made over 150,000 accessible toilets safer!

Our Toilet Warriors attach the cards to the emergency red cords within accessible toilets across the UK to ensure that they are hanging freely to the floor and within reach of anyone who needs to use them.

We are very proud of our network across the UK, who worked tirelessly with venues and community groups to raise awareness of this very important safety issue on behalf of disabled people. If you’ve placed a Euan’s Guide Red Cord Card in your local community toilet then we would like to say a huge thank you for your time and energy - your support is making a difference to the safety of disabled people.

Over 6,500 people working with us to amplify the voices of disabled people in the Euan’s Guide Access Survey

For over ten years, the Euan’s Guide Access Survey has been gathering up to date disabled access information to amplify the voices of disabled people. It’s the UK’s longest-running and largest Access Survey, and the data gathered gives us a clear idea of what it’s like to live in the UK as a disabled person.

The survey covers a range of topics from general disabled access to accessible toilets and current social and economic topics to find out exactly how disabled people are perceived and treated in the media, by society, and when they visit venues and businesses.

The thousands of participants who have taken our Access Survey over the last 10 years have helped inform our small but mighty charity’s work to help make disabled peoples’ voices heard and improve disabled access.

We want to say a huge thank you for supporting our vital research and for continuing to be part of our community.

Volunteer Web Testers

We have been working with volunteers from a range of different organisations and within the Euan’s Guide community to make sure that our website is as accessible as possible. As champions of disabled access, making sure we are providing disabled access information in an accessible way is of huge importance to us. We’re grateful to have had the opportunity to hear from our community on how to improve our website, and we’re proud to be making changes based on your feedback. To everyone who has been involved so far, we would like to say a huge thank you for making a difference to EuansGuide.com.

Euan’s Guide Ambassadors

Our Ambassador network includes over 30 disabled people who write reviews regularly and encourage new and existing volunteers to get involved in different activities with us. Our Ambassadors help to promote Euan’s Guide through media representation and helping out at stalls and events to spread the word about our small but mighty charity and the work we do.

We’re so grateful to our Ambassadors for everything you do to support us and our work - we hope you know how appreciated you are.

Want to get involved with our small but mighty charity helping to make the world a more accessible place?
