Good
Tucked away down a Cornish lane off the main road between Truro and Penryn, Enys Gardens was a very pleasant surprise! It has a lot of variety from well kept lawns to wild woodlands.
Disabled Access In and Around
Good
Many of the paths are quite rugged. Although there are light gravel paths from the carpark and around the cafe and toilets, the quality of the paths deteriorate the further into the garden you get. I encountered paths with tree roots and rocks sticking out from them and a couple of muddy patches. If you are a wheelchair user I would recommend bringing off-road wheels if you have them.
Parking & Transport
Good
The garden is signed from Penryn but another way to get to it is turning off towards Mylor just past Perranarworthal coming from the Truro direction and keeping your eyes peeled for a sign. The car park is on grass, but there is a designated disabled parking area close to the path to the gardens.
Accessible Toilets
Good
There are two disabled toilets near to the cafe. The newer, more obvious one was locked when I tried it (it was late in the day), but there is another unisex general use toilet behind the cafe that is accessible. The toilet behind the cafe can be accessed by going over grass. There is a light cord in the corner behind the door but I didn't see an alarm cord. The bolt lock is quite stiff. The toilet is quite spacious (more than enough for a large motorised wheelchair), is fitted with grab bars and has a suitable bin. It also has baby changing facilities, but the changing table only looked large enough to accommodate a child no older than a toddler.
Staff
Good
The staff were all friendly and helpful and gave us a map on the way in.
