Overall Rating
Good
Although we live less than half an hour from this hotel, we had a gift voucher to spend on a restaurant meal and overnight accommodation. We'd requested an accessible room as I am ambulant disabled, walking very slowly with two sticks.
Disabled Access In and Around
Good
Ramps at the front entrance are good for wheelchair users, but for those walking with sticks the hand rails are not on both sides and there is a dog leg to be negotiated.
Parking & Transport
Excellent
We drove and were allowed to drop off at the main entrance with valet parking and our luggage was also taken in to the hotel for us.
Accessible Toilets
Good
We only used the toilet in our "accessible room". Well laid out for a wheelchair user, including a shower seat and additional hand/grab rails. For someone using walking sticks it involved a little "wall surfing" holding on to basins before reaching the toilet.
Staff
Excellent
Very helpful at all times (except perhaps in the Strathearn restaurant where early diners tended to be allocated tables in corners or behind pillars, both with restricted views). When I was seen to be struggling to walk to our accessible room, which was a long way from reception, past boutique shops and a cafe area, a wheelchair was provided by staff for the rest of our stay.
Additional Information
Covid restrictions no longer applied, and we were happy with the arrangements and hand washing facilities. Fire doors can be a little tricky to negotiate in a wheel chair.
