Overview
We didn't visit the castle itself but headed for the tea rooms. We've been there before when my wife was more mobile and enjoyed tea or coffee and cakes there. Currently the tea rooms are being redeveloped and so the choice is more limited but still good, though everything is outside. However, all paths to both the castle and tearoom so are made of loose gravel. This is ok for mobility scooters with large wide wheels, but horrendous if you're pushing a manual wheelchair. The small front wheels keep getting stuck against the larger pieces of gravel. We got round it by taking to the grass wherever possible and otherwise dragging the wheelchair backwards.
