Overview

You can sense the history in this place and imagine the 60 000 togad Romans baying down the years. But what makes this venue so good is that it is fully wheelchair accessible with plenty of lifts and ramps.

Transport & Parking

1

Best approached on foot (although 'unpredictable' public transport does run).

Access

4

There are two small lifts (one chair, one carer) to take you up to the upper level of the arena, and you can get right round the gallery. At ground level it is possible to get around what would have been the arena 'floor', and see in the former cages. There are decent ramps throughout.

Toilets

3

I counted two in total - all well sign-posted and although I personally did not avail myself, I am informed they are both a decent size & well appointed.

Staff

2

Unless you were in an organised tour, most staff were pretty indifferent but most were helpful and spoke English.

Anything else you wish to tell us?

If you love Ancient Roman history, as I do - you'll enjoy The Collesseum! And it's not bad for 2 000+ years old!
