Overview

The Captain's Cabin is a room offered by the Old Brewhouse in Arbroath that is a great Wheelchair accessible facility. The Captain's Cabin is in the side street to the left as you look at the main building and is a Twin bed unit that also has a television and WiFi facility available. It is a bit like having your own small holiday house as there is also a small fridge in the Cabin. If you take breakfast it is a Continental breakfast that will be delivered in a Basket to your room. The night before you need it the hotel is also dog friendly. You can get meals with in the Restaurant at the Brewhouse and there is a ramp in the door however there is unfortunately not and accessible toilets and the doors through to the toilet are not wide enough for a wheelchair but that should not stop you using the Cabin The overall size of the Captain's Cabin makes it easy to move around If you are sitting in the Captain's Cabin you will see a door on the side wall of the Old Brewhouse this the bar area and had a step into the building There is a sofa and Two chairs in the sitting area and a Coffee table as well

Transport & Parking

3.5

There is a small Car park at the rear of the hotel for guests to use I would recommend telling them that you need a parking space thus is a few minutes away from the Captain's Cabin unit. There is also parking in some of the street around the area of the Cabin and the Old Brewhouse House . One point you do need to be aware of is that the street the Captain's Cabin is in is a one way street from the opposite end of the Street and is very narrow

Access

3.5

Tte door to the Captain's Cabin opens inward from the street and is a very narrow street the door frame can be difficult to get over as you exit the Captain's Cabin and care is needed as the Pavement drops away on to a dropped Kerb. I think that this is due to the Captain's Cabin being converted from a garage or maybe a boat house

Toilets

4

The Captain's Cabin offers a Wet room facility that is a good size there is a Shower chair available if required and the toilet is raised and there are grip rails available as well. There is also a heated Towel rail and a Red Cord in the Wet room unfortunately however this is to short as it is well above the floor area

Staff

5

The staff were fantastic and very friendly and were interested to find out about the wedding we attended when we called in to the restaurant the next day. Even when we returned the key they wanted to know if everything was alright for us

Anything else you wish to tell us?

The Captain's Cabin can be set up in different ways but is simply enough to change as in some set up settings the door to the Wet room can not open enough to allow a wheelchair in however by simply removing a bed side table and placing one between the Two beds it sorts the issue out
