Overview

Wonderful attraction, well worth a visit, well setup for wheelchair users like myself. There are a couple of things that are not completely accessible but on the whole, very accommodating.

Transport & Parking

Drove straight to the venue, plenty of disabled parking right outside the entrance.

Access

The venue is split into two studios, the first one is level and includes the Great Hall, it is wonderful to see and completely accessible in a large wheelchair. There are many sets to look at, it is very worthwhile. The restaurant is on the ground floor and the chairs are not fixed to the tables so you can push the wheelchair in close. You then venture outside and see the Knight Bus, 4 Privet Drive, the Weasley's car and the covered bridge from Hogwarts. The bridge has steps at either end and the Knight bus has a large step up at the back, just like the old fashioned London hop on hop off buses. Although these attractions are hard to get in to for disabled, they are situated on the ground in a courtyard which enables you to take many photographs with these magical items in the background. The second building has a few stairs but there are also ramps that you can use. The only place that is not set up for wheelchairs is Diagon Alley. The flooring here is cobbled stones, if you are unable to walk at all, somebody will take you around this part of the attraction. There are handrails on both sides all along the Alley, something to hold onto while you walk, albeit rather slowly!

Toilets

Plenty of room and very clean.

Staff

Staff are very helpful, they are quick to assist if you are looking a little lost. We went while the display was dressed for Winter, a very nice member of staff who was making fake snow brought her equipment over to my chair so that I could see, as her counter was quite high.

Anything else you wish to tell us?

Wonderful day out, full of magic. Great to be able to take photos on the sets. Unable to have a photo flying on a broom which was a little disappointing, but this is set up with the more able bodied in mind. Could do with a ramp in Diagon Alley for wheelchairs because it really is great to be able to see all of the shops. I would definitely recommend it to anybody. Free ticket for my husband as my carer. Great experience for all Harry Potter fans.
