Venue Description
Based largely in a medieval hall house, Amersham Museum explores life in the town’s past through intriguing objects and local stories. Sit at the Tudor dinner table, relax in the 1930s living room, or listen to stories in Ron Haddock’s 1960s record shop. Investigate our timeline display from fossils to dolls houses, and medieval tiles to historical maps. Visit our changing exhibition programme, join a guided walk, take part in an activity session, or wander through our medicinal herb garden.Accessibility
Our main front entrance has a sliding door with one step down and a handrail. For wheelchair users there is a second front door entrance which is fully accessible. Please ask our staff and they will be happy to assist you. Access to the first floor is limited to only part of the museum; there is platform lift access and where this is not available, we have provided information about the exhibits. The on-site toilet facilities are ‘more accessible’ and include folding grab rail and a baby-changing area.
