We're delighted to be taking part in Disabled Access Day 2017.
Head up to our 1940s Farm where there will be a chance to play traditional games as toast is prepared on the roaring fire.
See how tallow candles were made and watch amazing skills at the spinning wheel up at Pockerley Old Hall.
Pill and powder making – W Smith’s Chemist is a brand new addition to the museum and will be demonstrating the remedies of the day.
Sample some tasty traditional treats in No. 3 Francis Street in The Pit Village.
Try your hand at printing in The Pit Village school.
Beamish has a huge collection of objects, a special display of our some of our collections will be on show in The Pit Village school.
Join in with the Sacred Harp singers in Hetton Silver Band Hall in The Pit Village.
Have a go at some traditional games from the early 20th century in the back lane at the pit cottages with our young volunteers.
Catch the delicious smell coming from the communal bread oven in the pit cottages back lane. You’ll see the miner’s wife kneading it before
it’s baked – and if you’re there when it’s cooked, she’ll even give you a taste!
