Getting Here

Go North East run regular buses to and from the museum. Service 28/28A offers regular buses from Newcastle City Centre, Gateshead, Birtley, Ouston and Chester-le-Street. Buses run every 30 minutes on Monday to Saturday daytimes and hourly in the evening and on Sundays. Connections with other bus, train or metro services can be made in Newcastle, Gateshead and Chester-le-Street. Please note, from Monday, 6th September, the 28A will terminate at Perkinsville Bungalows and will no longer service the museum. The 28 will continue to service the museum with an hourly each day. Connections with other bus, train or metro services can be made in Newcastle, Gateshead and Chester-le-Street. Country Ranger service 8 runs every 30 minutes Monday to Sunday from Sunderland Interchange, via Washington, Chester-le-Street and Stanley. Parking

Free accessible parking is at the lowest level of our car park to the left of the Entrance Building. This area may also be used as a drop-off and collection point for Accessible Mini-buses. Ramps lead from this car park into the Entrance Building and further ramps are situated at the rear of the building providing access to, and exit from the museum site.
