Venue Description

Canberra Museum and Gallery (CMAG) is a vibrant location in the heart of the CBD. As Canberra's regional museum and gallery institution, CMAG hosts a vast collection of social history, visual arts, fine craft relevant to the Canberra region. CMAG also houses the Nolan Collection Gallery, including a permanent display of 24 works gifted by artist Sidney Nolan to the people of Australia in 1974. Entry is free to all exhibitions. We are open 10am - 5pm on weekdays, and 12 - 5pm on weekends (winter weekends 12 - 4pm)

Accessibility

Step-free, ground level entrance ways to foyer space, flat timber gallery floors with ramp access to elevated gallery, plus lift to second floor gallery. Ground floor disabled access toilet. A basic wheelchair is available by request from reception. Our theatrette contains an integrated induction hearing loop. Consistent with Australian law, certified Service Dogs are most welcome to accompany their owners through our public spaces.
