Venue Description

Canvas & Campfires is a luxury safari-tent glamping site set on a traditional Welsh smallholding. Our spacious safari tents sleep up to six people in proper beds, with hotel linen and cosy duvets. They are perfect for a family holiday but cosy enough if there are just two of you. The safari tents have a spacious living area with a cosy wood burning range cooker, leather sofa, handcrafted dining table, benches and chairs as well as a coffee table and games box. There is a fully equipped, hand-crafted kitchen in each of the tents, the wood-burning stove is the main source of heating and cooking but the tents also come with a single ring gas burner for emergency cups of tea when you just can't wait! We have 2 types of safari tent on site, the standard tents each have 2 bedrooms, one double (with a king sized bed) and one twin room, as well as a handcrafted cabin bed (a double) which is situated just off of the living area. The bedrooms are all equipped with extra blankets and hot water bottles. The accessible safari tents are similar in set up but 1 meter wider (6m) to allow for extra turning room and come with an attached accessible wet-room with roll in shower, grab rails, roll under sink and hand rinse basin. There is a fold down shower seat in both tents and we also have movable shower chairs that you can borrow. The tents also have a handcrafted roll under kitchen unit set at 80cm high with pull out work tops. In the accessible tents there is a master bedroom with a superking bed that can be split into singles and plenty of turning space. There is also a bunk bed room and a double cabin bed. There is a parking space and ramped access just outside Enfys tent and Dyffryn tent has a parking space 15m away with a gently sloping path to reach the tent. More information, photos and videos can be provided on request. Dogs are very welcome in Enfys. We have a Grippa pillow alarm that guests are welcome to borrow and large print instructions/welcome pack. A familiarisation tour is offered to all guests staying with us. Outside there is a covered deck area with seating to make the most of the incredible views, a fire pit for alfresco dining and cooking. Campfires are welcome on site. Experience luxury glamping at its absolute best. Come and discover us, hidden on a stunning smallholding, in a tranquil corner of rural Wales. Soak up incredible night skies, the sounds of birdsong, the culture, the heritage, the food, the amazing coastline. Bring the family or friends (dogs count too) or just come alone. Pant Yr Hwch, the farm that is home to Canvas & Campfires, is just 5 mins from the historic University town of Lampeter. 15 mins from the beautiful Georgian harbour town of Aberaeron. 15 mins from the ancient Brechfa forest. And just 30 mins from the stunning blue flag beaches of Llangrannog, Penbryn, Tresaith and Aberporth.

Accessibility

Our glamping site is based on a hilly smallholding in Wales, we have done as much as we can to improve accessibility and are very open to further ideas for improvement. Below is a list of the provisions/adaptations that we have made. We are very happy to discuss these and any additional things you might need to enjoy a holiday with us. The tents 1. Our accessible tents come with parking spaces close by, one has a space right alongside the tent, the other has a space about 15m away and the approach is sloped and on a compacted gravel path 2. The tents have a covered deck outside 2.5m x 6m), you enter from the deck via double sliding doors (each door has a 730mm clear opening and together they open to 1440mm wide) 3. The living area is spacious and we are very happy to move furniture around to meet your needs, a floor plan can be downloaded from the website or by calling or emailing 4. The kitchen area has a turning space of 1200mmx1200mm, a lowered counter top (to 800mm high) and a roll under sink, the unit also has two pull out work surfaces 5. The main bedroom has 1200mmx1200mm turning space and comes with a superking bed which can be split into two singles, we can manually adjust the height of the bed if you tell us in advance the height that would be best for you (please not it is not a profiling bed) 6. There is a 800mm wide sliding door from the bedroom to the attached wet room. The wetroom has 1500mm x 1500mm turning space, a RHT to the toilet and a RHT to a folding shower chair (we can order in additional/different chairs). 7.Water is thermostatically controlled at 40 degrees C 8. We have a vibrating alarm that can fit under a pillow which reacts to both the fire and CO2 alarms 9. The tents are currently off grid so lighting is provided by solar power and battery powered lanterns except for in the bathrooms. We can offer charging in the tents for electric chairs if we have advanced notice The farm 1. The driveway onto the farm is an unmade short road, it is quite steep but entirely manageable in a standard car 2. There is a main gate once you come down the hill, we are very happy to open this as required either responding to a beep or a pre-arranged time 3. There is a small honesty shop on site with a small slope to access the low profile doors 4. We are happy to offer familiarisation tours of the farm if this would be useful for you
