Colchester Zoo is constantly developing and has won many awards for its work. Their most recent award being The TripAdvisor Travellers' Choice Attractions Awards, which rated Colchester Zoo the 11th best zoo around the world and in the top 2 zoos in the UK! With over 260 species to see, set in 60 acres of beautiful parkland and lakes, your day out at Colchester Zoo will be action packed! As you step inside Colchester Zoo you are transported into a world full of magnificent animals waiting to be discovered. Learn about the animals as you see them up close and watch one of many daily displays. You even get the opportunity to feed the elephants and giraffes yourself at free public feeding sessions! You can also come face to face with Komodo Dragons; see white rhino, giraffes, ostrich and kudu roaming together at Kingdom of the Wild and walk underwater through the 24m tunnel at the Playa Patagonia sealion pool.

Accessibility

Colchester Zoo is naturally hilly and the terrain can be difficult for disabled visitors. For this reason, disabled visitors and their carers are charged a greatly discounted rate. Despite the terrain, almost all enclosures can be seen by following the yellow line easier route around the zoo. Disabled parking areas are available for Blue Badge holders at the top end of the zoo's car parks.

Toilets

Colchester Zoo's adult changing facility is currently being upgraded and will be available from the 12th of March as a Changing Places Toilet.
