Venue Description
One of the oldest attractions in South Florida, this 60 acre not-for-profit botanical gardens and wildlife sanctuary contains over 3,000 tropical and sub-tropical species of plants and trees. The Everglades Wildlife Sanctuary is home to 83 species of Florida native birds and animals including alligators, panthers, bobcats, river otters, eagles, peacocks and of course flamingos. The 1/2 acre Free-Flight Aviary boasts over 45 species of birds. Take a narrated tram tour, visit the historic Wray Home Museum and enjoy a Wildlife Encounter show.
Accessibility
Ramps are provided at the entrance and exit from the gift shop and ticket booth. ADA restrooms are provided. There is an accessible tram car for the narrated tram. Service animals are not allowed into the Free-Flight aviary as the birds are not caged, but an employee will be happy to escort a guest into the venue or care for the service animal during the visit.
