Movie Memories: Hobson's Choice (U)
Movie Memories is GFT's dementia-friendly film programme, designed to enable people living with dementia to socialise in a safe and social environment. Everyone is welcome. All tickets are £3 (includes free refreshments and live music).
Henry Hobson runs a successful bootmaker's shop in 19th century Salford. A widower with a weakness for the pub opposite, he does not want his three unruly daughters to get married, but they have other plans. Based on Harold Brighouse’s 1915 stage comedy of the same name, this was adapted for the screen by director David Lean. It was one of the most popular British films of 1954 and won the Best British Film award at following year’s BAFTAs.
