Venue Description

Sitting on the banks of the River Cray, Hall Place was once the country residence of Sir John Champneys, a successful merchant and former Lord Mayor of London. Today you can imagine genteel life in Tudor times as you explore the 500-year-old historic house or take a stroll in the spectacular gardens. Throughout the year, exciting exhibitions and events make Hall Place the perfect destination for everyone.

Accessibility

The historic house is on two floors, with level or ramp access throughout. There is a lift to the first floor and ramps as an alternative to steps. The nursery and glasshouses are accessible to wheelchair users. There are a limited number of hardstanding paths through the formal gardens. Push pad doors at the entrance and exit to the Visitor Centre.
