Venue Description

We have two cottages on our smallholding, both of which have downstairs double bedrooms, underfloor heating, single level tiled floors downstairs and on site parking within 10 metres.

Chestnut Cottage is rated M1 although it was designed with wheelchairs in mind and has a spacious wetroom and twin bedded room upstairs with its own seating area TV and DVD player suitable for carers or family. It is accessible by steps or ramp.

Beech Cottage has only one bedroom and bathroom with over bath shower and is accessible by two steps or portable ramp.

Accessibility

There are two steps into Beech Cottage but we also have a portable ramp available. Chestnut Cottage has 6 steps and a permanent ramp, both with handrails. The doors to both cottages are wide enough for standard and most electric wheelchairs. The drive is access to the farmyard and rough limestone but cars can stop at the bottom of the path/ramp to drop off luggage and passengers. Once inside all ground floors are single level and tiled. Chestnut Cottage has a spacious wetroom accessible to wheelchairs and we have a shower chair available.

Toilets

The wetroom complies with M3 except for a grab rail on the right hand side of the toilet (due to restrictions of wall construction). We have a seat riser available, levered taps, shower chair, swing top bin, portable storage unit, single handed toilet roll holder and accessible wall mirror.

Owner has attended the Welcome to Excellence course on disabled guests.
