Overview

This is the only shop I recognised on the high street in Lerwick so I thought I’d have a nosey to see if they stocked anything different than back home.

Transport & Parking

I’m not sure how good the transport is in the town centre of Lerwick as I left my car at the Lerwick Ferry Terminal. However, the walk from the Ferry Terminal to the shops only took about 20 minutes and the pavements were quite accessible for my powerchair.

Access

To get into M&Co there is level access, the door does need to be opened manually however, it was opened when we visited so there were no problems. Inside the shop was very spacious an I was able to easily drive around all the clothes racks. When I visited the lift was out of order and when we asked if there was another way to get to the other levels, we were told there wasn’t. However, whilst exploring Lerwicks town centre later on we found a back door that allowed you to visit the level below the one we were on previously. This level again was quite spacious.

Toilets

There was no accessible toilet in this shop however, there is a Changing Places toilet nearby in the town centre of Lerwick.

Staff

I didn’t buy anything when visiting the shop so didn’t encounter a member of staff this way, however the member of staff we asked about the lift wasn’t very friendly. The staff member on the lower level afterwards was friendlier and asked if we needed any help.
