Free bus travel for companions of Disabled Concessionary Card Holders on Disabled Access Day

Disabled Access Day is about making venues, places and spaces accessible to all and we can help with accessible bus travel.

To celebrate Disabled Access Day on 10, 11 and 12 March, we are offering free travel on all Brighton & Hove and Metrobus services to any companion travelling with a Disabled Concessionary Card Holder. This means the card holder and companion can enjoy the celebratory days together.

How does a companion claim free travel?

The companion needs to board the bus with their Disabled Concessionary Card Holder friend and make it clear to the driver that they are traveling with the card holder. The driver will permit all Disabled Concessionary Card Holders a plus one to travel with throughout all three days celebrating Disabled Access Day (10/11/12 March 2017).

Brighton & Hove Buses and Metrobus services stretch across the whole of East Sussex, West Sussex and Surrey.

More information available at buses.co.uk and metrobus.co.uk

What happens if I already have a Plus Companion on my Disabled Concessionary Card?

You are still entitled to your normal free plus one but for these three days to celebrate Disabled Access Day you will be able to have a second travelling companion travelling free with you.

What times and how far can I travel?

The normal terms and conditions of your Disabled Concessionary pass will still apply. Some areas only allow travel after 9am whilst others after 9.30am. Please do check with your local council before travel if you are unaware of the travelling restrictions or call us on 01273 886200 if you have any queries at all.

This offer only applies for Brighton & Hove Buses and Metrobus services.
