Overview

Nibble in Hull is a fantastic eatery for breakfast/brunch/lunch. There is a sloped ramp access down to the cafe. Nibble has tables inside and out. It is a small venue, so as a powerchsir user you can't access every single table. But the staff are fantastic at accommodating you, moving chairs to make room for my chair & they've even moved diners who had only just been seated and were still looking at their menus, so that we could sit at the table more easily accessible. Outside, there are tables on two levels, only the top level are accessible but there's plenty of them, so you're not missing out on dining in the sunshine! The best bit, they have lots of fleece blankets for you to wrap up in if you feel the cold! So, the food! The food is gorgeous - everything is cooked fresh to order, and as a vegetarian it's amazing, as there is so much choice! The menu lists where all their fresh ingredients are sourced - locally!! Infact they source as much as they can locally! The kitchen is on view, so you can see the food being made and that the area is clean. Nibble is happy to change things in your meal if you don't like certain ingredients or have a good allergy or intolerance. And if you're after a sweet treat. Nibble makes delicious cakes, tray bakes, flapjacks - all manner of scrummy treats all made in house! The staff: Nibbke staff are amazing. They're all very professional, attentive without being in your face, they're friendly and cheery - you always get a warm welcome! You are made to feel so welcome by the staff! And nothing seems too much trouble - I once ordered scrambled eggs and the plate had a drizzle of what looked like green pesto - I really don't like the string flavours of those kinds of things, and I asked if they could replate my scrambled eggs, as I knew that when I cut into the eggs and toast, the food would squish onto the pesto and would spoil the food for me. When I asked, the response was a cheery 'no probs' they didn't make me feel like I was being awkward or difficult. The toilets! As a wheelchair user, the toilets are often the deciding factor when finding somewhere to eat out. The toilets at Nibble are down a well lit wide corridor just as you go in - so you don't have to try and get past diners, or ask people to move out of the way like many places I've been. There is a ladies, a gents and a disabled toilet. The disabled toilet has space to transfer from your right hand side. There is a fold down grab rail on the one side, and a grab rail sttatched to the wall the other. The sink is the right height for a chair user. There is a paper towel dispenser and an open rubbish bin - no pedal bin! Music! The venue does have music playing - which may cause problems if you have heating difficulties- but if the music was causing you an issue, I bet if you asked the staff to turn it down they would, because nothing is too much trouble for Nibble staff! Dogs! Nibble is a very dog friendly venue, so taking an assistance dog would be no issue. I very rarely go in there & not see a dog sat under a table or next to a diner! They have bowls of water in the entrance and outside, and there is also a listing on the menu for dogs! Plus you can buy dog treats there too. Whatever you'd soecific needs might be, I'm sure Nibble staff would do their upmost to accommodate you. Nibble is usually busy, but if you're eating out a thing a peak time, ring up in the morning to book a table. As a wheelchair user, they will let you specify which table you would prefer to be seated at too. I cannot fault Nibble, it's always my first choice when going for lunch in Hull,!

Transport & Parking

The venue doesn't have its own car park, but there is a public car park over the road - plus, there's quite a few good double yellow parking opportunities for Blue Badge users nearby which is what I usually do!

Access

5

Brilliant! Step free access throughout. If the venue is busy and you're waiting for a table, there are steps infront of Nibbke where they seat people who are waiting. There are cushions if concrete steps are too hard for you, and blankets to keep you warm if it's a bit cold or windy.

Toilets

Great disabled access toilets, with red cord which does hang all the way done to the ground - well maybe an inch off the ground. There are grab rails, the sink is the right height, and the bin isn't a pedal bin. One time when I visited there was an out of order sign on the loo. The waitress came to tell me when we were seated - before we ordered, to give us the opportunity to go elsewhere if it was an issue. She told me that someone had broken the tap in the accessible loo. But said that they could bring a bowl of water to the loo for me to wash my hands. I always carry wipes with me anyway, but I thought it was so incredibly thoughtful of them.

Staff

The staff are friendly and welcoming, always! Never once have I been and got anything other than a warm welcome. They're also good at their jobs!

Anything else you wish to tell us?

Nibble staff will go the extra mile to accommodate your needs, and will do so in a friendly and welcoming manner. They won't make you feel a nuisance or make you feel you're an inconvenience. I cannot fault the staff at all.
