NorthLink Ferries offer fast and frequent sailings from the Orkney and Shetland Islands from mainland Scotland to the Orkney and Shetland Islands. At the Scrabster Ferry Terminal, near Thurso in Caithness you can catch up to three sailings a day to Stromness in Orkney, sailing past the Old Man of Hoy.

Accessibility

There is a gradual slope (215cm wide and permanent) on the approach to the ScrabsterNorthLink Ferry Terminal building. There is level access to the Ferry Terminal entrance. The main door (185cm wide) opens manually and the second door (179cm wide) open automatically. The reception desk is 6.5m from the entrance, with level access. A walkway with a gradual slope leads from the first floor to the ferry. There is also a waiting area on the first floor. There is a lift between the Ground Floor and First Floor, found 28m from the accessible entrance. The dimensions of the lifts are 110cm x 138cm.

Toilets

The Scrabster Northlink Ferry Terminal has two adapted toilets designated for public use. The toilet on the Ground Floor is located 29m from the accessible entrance and the toilet on the First Floor is adjacent to the lift. These are unisex, and a key is not required. The doors are locked by a twist lock, and the dimensions of the adapted toilets are 215cm x 220cm.
