Overview

Good: Accessible*, clean and tidy, friendly staff Not so good: Signage was awful. No signs to the restaurant, no indication of mealtimes (at hotel, in rooms or on website) *no indication if there was a disabled toilet in the restaurant and no menu for Meal Deal Evening Meal until seated at the table. *Poor access to lift from reception for wheelchair user (open doors away from you!). Not possible to charge Meal Deal surcharges to room & a 20 minute wait for food in a restaurant with less than 20 customers (most eating on arrival).

Transport & Parking

I drove (motability car with wheelchair joist and powered weheelchair). There is no hotel car park. Council car park opposite has 4 disabled bays (all full on arrival) and the payment app makes it v. difficult to book past 8am next morning (book for night to 8 then make a separate booking from 8 next day!). 24 hour car parks are 5-10 mins away so a challenging option.

Access

2 mins from above car park, ramps slopes etc. all good. Zebra crossin opposite hotel. Step frree access throughout but heavy door from Reception to lifts a pain (and why pull not push when I have qa suitcase * need keycard to unlock?). Can't otherwise fault access including well appointed bathroom.

Toilets

I had an accessible room so all excellent. I couldn't see a sign for a disabled toilet in the restaurant & didn't explore so no idea on ground floor facilities.

Staff

Receptionist lovely but very busy, restaurant staff pleasant but a bit disengaged. 20 min wait for food not helped by being ignored (a smile never hurts!). Was professionally dealt with but felt a bit like a commodity.
