The sports facilities at University Park are located on one site in a tranquil setting just to the west of the historic town centre. Stretching over 40 acres, the site has fine views across the Tay estuary over to the Sidlaw Hills, and was gifted to the University in 1904 by notable industrialist and benefactor Andrew Carnegie. The University continues to invest in sport at St Andrews and following a major £14 million refurbishment of the indoor facilities now provides some of the best sports facilities in Scotland. Automatic double doors at the main entrance allow access to the building and are 140cm wide. There are push pads to exit the facility through these doors. A section of the reception desk is lowered (under 76cm). A 100cm wide gate controlled by reception staff allows access to the facility, as well as 42cm wide turnstiles which are activated by swipe cards. The building is split over two floors. A lift which is 96cm by 140cm, with a door of 90cm width, allows access to the upper floor. Two staircases also lead to the upper floor, there are 11 steps then a landing area, followed by another 12 steps. The Tennis Centre on the ground floor has a raised viewing area up 7 steps, and a chair lift also allows access to this area. The ground and upper floor have level access to all other services. Access to the gym and fitness suite is via swipe card activated gates . Access to the performance suite is via a swipe card activated door. Access to all other facilities is via single or double doors. The door out to the outdoor pitches is a double door, with the opening being 82cm wide. Access to the building through this door is accessed via an intercom at reception. Access to the outdoor tennis courts and sand-dressed pitch is via two sets of doors each 86cm wide.

Toilets
3 accessible changing rooms on the ground floor, outside each toilet block and opposite the Sports Arena. One accessible toilet on the upper floor next to the gym / lift. Each accessible changing room is accessed by a 97cm wide door with an easy turn lock. The changing rooms contain a toilet with lateral transfer space, wall mounted grab rails, an emergency pull cord alarm, wash basin, bin and hand dryer. They also have a wheelchair accessible shower with a fold down seat, and lockers to store belongings. The accessible toilet is upstairs adjacent to the lift and the studio, it is accessed by a 97cm wide door and the room is 190 by 230cm. It contains a toilet with lateral transfer space, drop down grab rails, an emergency pull cord alarm, wash basin, bin and hand dryer.
Staff
All operational staff are qualified in First Aid. All staff are trained in the use of the Evac chair to assist wheelchair users or those with limited mobility with getting down the stairs in the event of an emergency.
