Excellent museum.
Visit date:
This review is especially helpful for those who have or use the following: Walking Aid, Wheelchair, Mobility Scooter
Overview
We stopped here during a lengthy circuit on my mobility scooter. We were welcomed into the cafe and saw some the exhibits, which are catalogued A-Z, so you may do "an alphabet” of 26 exhibits on each visit, or more if you wish! The cafe closed in March 2025, sadly.
Transport & Parking
By mobility scooter with an able-bodied companion walking alongside or ahead.
Access
There is a signposted entry ramp which brings you in on the ground floor of exhibits. A bit of a slalom from there to the cafe, but it was fun.
Toilets
These are on an upper floor, but accessible by lift. We did not use them on this visit.
Staff
First welcomed by the exhibits curator, we were then made even more welcome in the cafe by three more staff.
