Stick or Twist Pub

This review is especially helpful for those who have or use the following: Powerchair
Overview
Both entrances to the pub are lightweight double doors that can be easily opened from a wheelchair, are completely level, and pose no issues concerning their width. The patio furniture is very easy to navigate around, as are the tables and chairs indoors, and the carpet does not slow down my wheelchair significantly. Inside the pub there are two raised areas which are inaccessible to wheelchairs, but there is plenty of seating available in the accessible floors so this rarely poses a problem. There are a range of table heights available to suit all needs. The bar is a little high, but staff are always willing to hand the card-reader down to me, or food and drink can be ordered via the app with ease. The self-service coffee machine is easily reachable from my wheelchair. The disabled toilet doubles as a baby-changing unit, but it is checked by staff regularly to maintain hygiene. Full changing facilities are not available, but the cubicle is large enough to turn around completely from a powered wheelchair, has grab rails, emergency pull cords, and lowered sinks and hand-driers. Because the disabled toilets are alongside the standard mens’ and womens’ bathrooms, I have never had to wait to use the toilet for someone who isn’t disabled or in need of the baby-changing unit. The staff are always friendly; they speak to me even when I am wish someone able-bodied, and they are polite and accommodating. I am never patronised or spoken down to, and they are always willing to meet my needs. The pavements outside the pub are level, with plenty of kerbs levelled with the road for easy crossing. Car parks with abundant disabled parking are very close by.
Transport & Parking
The Merrion Centre car park is directly opposite the pub and has disabled parking spaces available. Being only a short distance from 2 main roads, multiple bus stops are also nearby.
Access
Everything is accessible bar a couple of small raised areas.
Toilets
The only thing it lacks is a full changing unit.
Staff
Always willing to provide help when it's needed, but never forces help when it's not needed.
