Venue Description
Techniquest is the UK's longest-established purpose-built science discovery centre set in the heart of Cardiff Bay. With over 100 hands-on exhibits that let you experience science, technology, engineering and maths in a fun and exciting way, the exhibit floor can be enjoyed by all ages and knowledge levels. Feel the force of a hurricane, dock a virtual spacecraft, or command plasma trails at your fingertips — the choice is truly yours!
Accessibility
The main entrance has no steps or impediments restricting disabled access, and the front doors are wide and automatic. There is level access throughout the entire exhibition area, with a passenger lift to the first floor. Our 4K Planetarium has ramp access and space for one wheelchair user to enter, and our Science Theatre has space enough for two wheelchair users with easy access (there are additional spaces in the Science Theatre for wheelchair users to transfer to standard seating, though please note this involves one or two steps to reach them). Wheelchairs are available to borrow while you visit (subject to availability) — just ask when you arrive; Hearing loop-enabled front desk; Assistance dogs are welcome, and water for them is available upon request; Ear defenders may be requested from the front desk; Many of our exhibits have touchscreen information attached, written in both English and Welsh; Seating is available at several points throughout the exhibition area; Many of our exhibits are designed to be accessible for wheelchair users, but please be aware that some will not be suitable.

Accessible Performances
We have started to offer Accessible Performances of our Star Tours show in the Planetarium during our monthly Sunday morning Relaxed Sessions, though this is not yet an every day offer.
