The Capitol, Dundee

Overview
We called into The Capitol of the first night of our visit to Dundee and returned to eat there on the other two nights of our visit. The Capitol is well located just a few hundred yards from our hotel and wheelchair friendly, we cannot praise this eatery enough. As with other establishments in the Wetherspoon’s chain there are ‘Club Deals’ on various nights. On our first night, I enjoyed a choice from the Chicken menu, Curry the next night and Fish the third, from the club menu. If these ‘special’ menus didn’t take your fancy, the main menu had a great variation of choice. Two main courses, a pint of lager and a bottle of sparkling water and two deserts for around £18. I only wish we had a Wetherspoon’s pub where I lived. I don’t frequent pubs very often these days but the drinks seemed very reasonably priced. Should we return to this area on Dundee in future, I know where we shall be eating.
Transport & Parking
Access
Door would have been difficult without being accompanied. Access was good when we used either a wheelchair or buggy. Entrance was to a lower floor but I did notice a wheelchair lift to allow transfer to the main bar area and, I presume, toilets. Door would have been difficult without being accompanied
Toilets
There was one signposted but I didn’t use it.
Staff
On each evening we found the food really excellent. Staff at both the bar and serving were efficient and friendly.
