Venue Description

The Dukes is a theatre, cinema, art gallery and community hub in Lancaster. Located a few minutes from the city centre The Dukes has events year round with up to three events a day! There's always something going on from comedy to community work.

Accessibility

The Dukes is based in a converted church which makes access difficult however as a company we are committed to making ourselves as accessible as possible. We have recently dropped the curb outside our entrance to allow wheelchairs easier access. We have ramp access to all three of our auditoriums. All of our home produced shows have BSL versions and Audio Description services. We work with local charities such as Deafway to constantly review our accessibility and try and improve this at every turn. We run a theatre group for young people with learning disabilities and another for adults.

Staff

All our staff are trained to be of as much help as they can for everyone's access needs. We have Front of House volunteers including several with disabilities who help us act with integrity at all times.
