Venue Description

We are the New Town hall community hub, public gym & 18 bed bunkhouse. We have a large hall which can be divided into three smaller rooms for individual groups and classes, a video wall with full sound systems & professional grade lighting for discos or parties. Four study carrels with printers and computers used by both visitors and locals. We have a custom built boxing gym for the local grassroots boxing club and a state of the art public gym. Our bunkhouse has 18 beds, with a double communal kitchen and views out over peaceful countryside. We have E-bike chargers, secure bike parking and a bike repair station.

Accessibility

We have access via side doors with ramps and a wider entrance door, the main hall is all on one level with push access fire doors a disabled toilet with fire beacons, help call point, and lowered sink & mirror with a sliding door. Upstairs in the gym there is a lift for wheelchairs, a disabled access bathroom with wheelchair access shower and call access fire points throughout the building. The bunkhouse has a fully accessible room downstairs with a disabled access bathroom with lowered mirrors and loos, and a wheelchair accessible shower.

Accessible Performances

We have pantomimes and concerts occasionally, we always factor in extra seating and space for visitors who may struggle with traditional tight lines of chairs. Where ever possible we will adapt the environment and the content to accommodate everyone.

We are a proud supporter of the Galloway and southern Ayrshire biosphere and we have a 4 star Visit Scotland hostel rating.

Toilets

Our accessible toilet in the main hall has wide access through a sliding door, with lowered sink and mirror, wheelchair access loo, emergency call point and fire beacons. The accessible loo upstairs has a turn handle door, with wheelchair friendly shower, accessible toilet and lowered sink and mirror. It also has fire beacons and an emergency line point. The bunkhouse accessible bathroom has a wheel in shower, lowered loo, sink and mirror, wider access door with a turn handle fire beacon and emergency pull line.
