The Trolleybus Museum at Sandtoft
Belton Road, Sandtoft, DN8 5SX, United Kingdom | 01724711846 | WebsiteVenue Description
Trolleybuses were once common in the UK, but the last one operated in 1972 although they have flourished in many parts of the world. Founded in 1969 we have the largest collection of preserved trolleybuses in the world, mostly from Brtitain but with some examples from overseas. The Museum also houses a collection of historic toys dating from the 1920's to the present day, a replica Pre-Fab home, a Cycle Shop Museum and a Lecture Theatre. The Museum is run entirely by volunteers.Accessibility
Open air site, with step-free entrance and access to all buildings. PLEASE NOTE: MOST OF OUR BUSES AND TROLLEYBUSES ARE HISTORIC VEHICLES AND WEREN'T DESIGNED TO CARRY WHEELCHAIRS. We currently have a wheelchair-accessible motorbus which we run on most open days, and an accessible trolleybus which we run on advertised open days. We will provide assistance where possible at other times including a portable step to assist boarding buses. We have wheelchairs available for visitors.
