Overview

A small friendly cafe located close to Newark hospital that serves a range of sandwiches, Panini's, salads, hot and cold drinks. It has a gluten free, diary free and diabetic options. The cafe is easily accessible and has a small play area with sensory lights at the rear close to the disabled toilets.

Transport & Parking

Parking is free of charge. The car park is shared with a local Co-op and charity shop and has two disabled parking spaces. The closest bus stop is approximately 5 minutes walk away outside the hospital which goes to and from the town centre.

Access

The cafe has level access from the Car park. There are double automated doors. Tables are high enough to push a wheelchair under. There is a large version of the menu on the wall. Although there is no Braille menu at present. the staff are happy to assist by reading the menu. There is the option of both table and counter service. The gentleman I was with parked his mobility scooter outside as it is quite large. On a previous visit I observed two wheelchair users and their carers enter the cafe with ease. The cafe has a range of seating including chairs with solid arms and backs.

Staff

Staff are extremely friendly and accommodating and more than happy to accommodate request to move chairs and read menus.

Anything else you wish to tell us?

Although there is no Braille menu at present the cafe has only been open 8 days and the owner discussed she is already looking into getting either large print menus or Braille menus.
