Overview

If you are looking for an accessible way to get out into the beautiful countryside of the Trossachs using all terrain wheelchairs with the peace of mind being accompanied by a knowledgeable guide then Trossachs Mobility is definitely the way to go. The charity is located in the Perthshire town of Callander, an hours drive from Glasgow or Edinburgh. There is a car park directly outside the venue and the venue is accessible via a gently sloping ramp. Once inside it is all level access.

Transport & Parking

Parking is easy as there is a car park big enough for 6-8 cars directly outside the door and plenty paring adjacent. I am unsure about public transport.

Access

Entrance to the venue is via a gently sloping ramp, almost level access. Then through a large door. There is also access through large garage doors if necessary. Once inside, there is plenty of space to manoeuvre and is totally level access. There is an office area and wheelchair storage area. There is also a decent sized accessible toilet.

Toilets

The accessible toilet is a decent size. I was able to get my powered wheelchair in.

Staff

The staff are very friendly and helpful. Gordon, who takes you out in the all terrain wheelchair Will give you a run through of how to handle the wheelchair and in no time at all has you out in the countryside on terrain you never thought possible in a wheelchair. He explains and demonstrates what he wants you to do when there is obstacles or steep slopes and he is very reassuring and is always there if you have any problems. Also his knowledge of the areas accessible tracks and what the capabilities of what the chairs can do are amazing.

Anything else you wish to tell us?

If you love getting outdoors and have mobility issues this is for you. The charity does not charge but asks for a minimum donation of £10 which goes towards the up keep of the equipment and trying to fund more chairs.
