Overview

Trossachs Mobility gave me the chance to try the terrain hopper. An all terrain vehicle which allowed me to get out and about in the great outdoors with ease. It allowed me to get to places I would never have attempted in my manual chair. Amazing experience!

Transport & Parking

We drove through to Callander and parked in the public car park just off station road. The car park had a number of disabled bays and is free to blue badge holders.

Access

There is level access front the main street with a slight slope that was easily manageable in my manual wheelchair. Once inside, although there is lots of exciting equipment, the store front is spacious enough that moving around is very easy. Taking the terrain hoppers out of the front door took a little bit of concentration as the doorway was quite tight, but it was simple enough if we took our time.

Toilets

I can't comment on this as I never used to loo. I know there are toilets available in the shop, but I used the accessible loo at the station road car park, which was easy enough to use.

Staff

Gordon Wilson hosted us for the day, which was a real delight. His enthusiasm for the great outdoors is infectious, which meant we didn't want to leave (despite the torrential rain!). His knowledge of the local area meant that the trip doubled up as a guided tour. His knowledge of the machines meant that we felt secure the whole time we were out, knowing that we were in safe hands.

Anything else you wish to tell us?

These terrain hoppers really help to remove the fear of going to new places and doing new things. I had heard lots of great reviews from people trying them out, so I couldn't wait to go! I would urge anyone who hasn't tried it yet, to get yourself out to Trossachs Mobility as soon as you can! I'll be back with the family as often as I can.
