Edinburgh Art Festival is a unique celebration of the visual arts, delivered in partnership with the city’s leading galleries, museums and artist-run spaces. The festival has been running for over 15 years and has grown to become the UK's largest annual festival of visual art, showcasing hundreds of artists across venues in Edinburgh.

Alongside the main festival programme, the Art Festival runs a year-round series of learning and engagement activities around the Commissions Programme and partner exhibitions as well as bespoke tours, workshops and projects for community groups and organisations inspired by the work of participating artists. Each year, the Art Festival supports Scottish and international artists to make new and ambitious projects which engage with the extraordinary context of Edinburgh in August. 

Presented across leading national institutions and artist run spaces, this rich programme of exhibitions developed by a gallery partners is a chance to experience ambitious and innovative presentations of some of the very best historic and contemporary artists from Scotland, the UK and beyond.
