Edinburgh: Hearing Loop Tour of Colour and Light

Thursday 1st December, 2016, 11.00am, Dovecot

The Dovecot Front of House team invite you to learn more about the process of interpreting colour and light in their tapestries and rugs. This tour has been designed for hearing impaired visitors, and hearing loop amplifier kits will be used with the T loop option.

London: The Vulgar: Fashion Redefined (Audio-described tour)

Tuesday 6th December, 2016, 6.30pm, Barbican Centre

The Vulgar is a unique exhibition and the first to explore ‘the inherently challenging but utterly compelling territory of taste in fashion.’ It features looks from Pam Hogg, Christian Lacroix, Vivienne Westwood among others. This tour is ‘suitable for blind and partially-sighted visitors, led by an expert tour guide who will describe key artworks on display in the exhibition.’ A guide will also be available to meet any visitors who require assistance at either Barbican or Moorgate London Underground Stations.

London: Audio Described discussion: Yin, Yang and the Energetic Bod

Discover how we can map the human body from different times and places with this Audio Described tour and discussion in the Medicine Man gallery. You’ll learn about the history of Chinese Medicine with tactile teaching tools, and afterwards you’ll know where to locate a few of your own acupuncture points!

Bempton: The Island RSPB Bempton Cliffs – Virtual Reality Experience

Saturday 10th December (and more dates), 2016, 10.00am, RSPB Bempton Cliffs

Transport yourself a mile off the coast of Northumberland with virtual reality! The wildlife sanctuary is not allowed to be disturbed by visitors, so these headsets will give you the opportunity to experience Coquet Island and the fascinating birds that live there. The Seabird Centre has flat access into the building and lists accessible parking, accessible toilets and alternative formats on Euan’s Guide.

Hull: A Christmas Treasure Island – Touch Tour and Audio Described performance

A Christmas adaptation of a classic! Hull Truck Theatre have arranged a Touch Tour prior to the Audio Described performance of Treasure Island. It’ll be an adventure!

London: Aladdin – BSL Interpreted Performance

Tuesday 27th December, 2016, 2.00pm, Lyric Hammersmith

A traditional panto ‘full of colourful characters, live music, lots of laughs and of course the magical genie.’ What would you do with three wishes? The Lyric Hammersmith is listed on Euan’s Guide saying there is ‘wheelchair access via lifts’ and there are ‘wheelchair spaces and disabled toilets.’
