Venue Description

Lothian endeavours to provide an inclusive service for bus travel in Edinburgh that is accessible to all. For this reason, our bus drivers and customer service advisors receive training on a range of disabilities and our buses are designed with safety and accessibility in mind. We have an up-to-date website that you can use to plan your journey, view and disruptions or diversions on your route and also find all of our Accessibility information/ All of our services are wheelchair accessible, with a kneeling feature and ramped access. The accessible spaces on all of our buses are rearward facing. We welcome assistance dogs on our services (as well as pet dogs, so long as they are kept on a leash and are well behaved). PLEASE NOTE. We are only able to permit Mobility Scooters to travel on our services if they have been folded and can be stored as luggage. Many of our buses either have two wheelchair accessible spaces or a wheelchair accessible space and an additional space for parents with buggies or for those travelling with larger mobility aids. Most of our buses also have Audi and Visual Next Stop Announcements to help all of our customers navigate the city We have a dedicated TFE app to help all of our customer4s with their journey planning and it also has a TFE talks feature designed with the RNIB especially for our customers with sight loss. We also have a dedicated Accessibility and Inclusion Officer which means we are constantly reviewing and revising all aspects of our business. If you have any questions, concerns or feedback, please email Accessibility@LothianBuses.co.uk If you have a disability or are over the age of 60, you are entitled to use our day services free of charge and can do so by showing our driver your up-to-date National Entitlement Card (NEC).
